The Look Up Dessert Cafe is located between Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, VA, and is the perfect place to stop in and grab a slice of their moist, light cake to-go. While their indoor seating is open, there is limited space for larger groups, especially on busy weekend evenings. However, they are open from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day of the week except Wednesday. We have heard rave reviews about their mocha layer cake. Pair it with some specialty macaroons and you've got the perfect spread of sweet treats.
Gilly's Creamery
If you're in the mood for traditional, homemade ice cream, this family-owned, local ice cream shop is your destination. Gilly's is an old-fashioned little ice cream store located at the farmers market. They create unique flavors every day, and their selection rotates often. They are open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. most days of the week with occasional longer hours if the market is hosting a special event. All their products are hormone and antibiotic free. Options include all kinds of interesting combinations as well, like Mom's Apple Pie and cranberry sorbet. They have a retro-style seating area, but you can grab a pint, quart, ice cream sandwich, or ice cream pie to take with you.
The SnoBall Shop
This snow cone paradise is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. If you need to cool down, you should definitely check out The SnoBall Shop. They serve New Orleans-style shaved ice treats topped with your choice of more than 100 flavors. If you're feeling super indulgent, you can top your snoball with a variety of candy toppings too. The shop has a nostalgic vibe to it. There is brightly colored outdoor seating, happy music, and delightful servers behind the counter waiting to assist you. The best part?
