Find Locally-Made Goods at Artisan Shops in Virginia Beach

For some of the finest locally-made goods, visit the best artisan shops in Virginia Beach. They are where you'll find everything from leather bags to colorful pieces of pottery. The stores are within a quick drive of our apartments near Tidewater Community College and include the following.

Igor's Custom

A ViBe District favorite, Igor's Custom is best known for its hand-painted signs. Igor creates the old-fashioned way. You won't find computers in his studio, and his work gains attention on television and in magazines. When Igor first moved to Virginia Beach, he designed window displays for a surf shop chain. A friend later asked him to paint a helmet, and soon the shop was born. Along with the signs, you may also find custom T-shirts and custom-painted coffee mugs.

Jars of Dust

At Jars of Dust, Mallorie creates a handcrafted line of functional pottery. She works onsite, and you can peek into the back room to watch as she's hard at work. As you explore the shop, you'll likely be greeted by Brown. This charming dog enjoys getting to know every customer, and his tail has broken more pieces than you can count. The selection includes chunky jars, serving platters, and pasta bowls.

North End Bag Co.

The designers at the North End Bag Co. are always cutting and sewing. They have learned from their mistakes along the way and craft bags for everyday use. The selection includes coin pouches, the Murray backpack, and the Virginia Beach tote. In addition, the North End Bag Co. also offers repairs on bags purchased at the store.

After checking out artisan shops in Virginia Beach, stop by a local Indian restaurant for a delicious meal. When you are ready to call The Apartments at Spence Crossing home, please contact us. Our friendly leasing team will show you our apartments in Virginia Beach firsthand.
